ANY student who threatens another with a weapon should be expelled.

I understand his mother's intention and props to her for standing up for son but the execution was outside what we consider acceptable. Weapons in schools really are just not a good idea. Fair enough.

But - what happened to the bullies?

Seems the school officials was justifying their actions and there's not mention of what happened to them so am I to fairly assume that nothing happened to them?

This is a rare circumstance where everybody involved seems to be at fault.

If it's true that the school administration had knowledge of the bullying and did nothing to stop it then they need to be severely reprimanded.

The bullies need to be suspended.

The student who brought the weapon to school absolutely deserves to be expelled.

The mother who provided her son with the weapon needs to be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and investigated by child protective services. I've heard of cases where students were subject to expulsion for having a butter knife in their lunch box. If the mom honestly though that her son carrying a stun gun to school was a good idea then there is no telling what other kind of messed up advice she has been passing on.

You must have been a high school bully. You are laughing at someone because he's different.
Maybe you are still in high school ... yeah, that would make more sense.

There's no way that Kaptoz is in high school. Considering his long winded writing style and xenophobic views he is undoubtedly an adult.

The kid who was expelled for bringing the stun gun is gay and that's the main reason he was being picked on. That's not fair but it is entirely predictable. Everybody in high school gets picked on, and a male who dresses up like a female and tells people to call him Dynasty will get the worst abuse of all.

The cross-dressing part of the story is a gay-baiting lie put out by the school administrators to cover up for gay-hating and race discrimination (we *are* talking Indiana here)
.
Here is how Dynasty dresses (he's the one wearing green)

I have never met this kid and have no firsthand knowledge about what he wears to school.

There have been multiple reports in the media that Dynasty was targeted because he was accessorizing his school uniform with female clothing. Whether or not that is the case is a fairly insignificant part to the story. He would be well advised to avoid drawing attention to himself by dressing like that, but even if he does bullying should not be tolerated and the school has a duty to punish anyone who engages in that kind of activity.

That being said any student who intentionally brings a weapon onto school property should be immediately expelled.

A tazer gun might be considered a weapon because it fires transducer wires out to immobilize a person some distance away. It uses a laser beam to pinpoint the target before you pull the trigger; and costs in the neighborhood of $500

.
A stun gun is for self-defense. The attacker has to be close enough for you to press the electrodes against his body and flip a switch. Stun guns start at $10
http://www.smartstun.com/assets/images/sm-mul...
.
If your attacker is physically beyond your reach; then your stun gun presents no danger to the attacker
.
The difference between the two devices will be important if this case ever goes to court because a stun gun only works in situations where the attacker gets close enough to the victim to make physical contact

By that definition a switchblade knife is a self defense device rather than a weapon because the person it's used against must be within reach.

In no way does the fact that a stun gun is designed to be used for self defense negate the fact that it is a weapon

Let's stop a moment, catch our breath, and look at this for what it really is. There is an agenda to this story that is being fueled by the openly gay rank & file of the local media. This agenda is the most important issue in their world, and they would love to persuade you to think as they do, that anything ‘gay’ should always have top billing in the news.
If the kid being bullied was not openly gay, and was bullied due to any OTHER reason, you would have heard only a short blurb in the local media about the weapon & the expulsion. And that would have been the end of it.
BUT, now we have the media, which tries to force ANY issue concerning homosexuals to the front page wringing their hands in disbelief because the school did what it would do in ANY case involving a weapon brought to school. Just look at the Star & the broadcast stations: they are falling all over themselves to show this person in many different feminine poses, wearing all the girlie clothes, shoes and jewelry that they can.
And if you read the front page of the 'local' Star today...you even get to know what brand designer fashions & jewelry that he/she "accessorizes" with. Whoopee!
Also check out the idiot Star reporter Erika Smith, who blows into town awhile back with the mission to "enlighten" everybody in Indy. Her column today has to be one of the most BS columns that a major newspaper has ever published. Her columns always reek of space filler.
Tell me that 'yellow journalism" is not alive & well today.
Bottom line is that bullying is wrong, period. It’s been going on forever. The bullies absolutely need punished whenever it can be proven. But if I’m in high school, and every day wear a sign that says:“KICK ME”, how can I complain when I’m kicked repeatedly?
Note to Rainbow Kid:
1) That little ‘chosen’ link you supplied with a pic on how Dynasty dresses: Do those knee-high boots somehow look manly to you? If they came with steel toes, Dynasty would not have needed the weapon.
2) A knife also requires close proximity. What do you think the courts would say to that?

I never heard of boots causing homophobia. It must be a regional hangup; purely subjective
.
Lets test it:

If Dynasty wore red shoes and a punk hairdo; would he be bullied?

You remind me of a classmate of mine from 3rd grade through 12th. P and a bunch of his toadies were seen at least once in the boy's locker room after or before gym class, mocking and laughing at a developmentally challenged classmate's privates.
P is a sick excuse for a human being, and you fall right into that category.

The Principal and all of the faculty should be expelled for allowing the bullying. If you haven't been there, don't knock it.

There is no definition of weapon which does not include a stun gun.
