They are doing away with delivering the bills on Saturday, Yet they made sure they just increased postage stamps by another penny, Not to mention they still want another huge bailout .They got to keep all those postal union pension funds hefty, Most of them who work for the post office either has a GED or BARELY EVEN GRADUATED .Yes most of them are minorities.Again tell me how black people who make up 13% in the USA population get to work 38% of the public sector jobs?. Like sanitation , IPL, Gas company, water company,Not to mention all the other jobs they are handed based on their color and not their lack of qualifications .Like the recently appointed new black Police Chief , Who got a waiver to avoid being disqualified for not having all the training and paper work needed to even qualify as a Police Chief. I guess you always have to be white and have all the qualifications and paper work before passing Go.What does this say to black kids. It says hey don't worry , Your next in line for momma or poppa's job, You the right color. Don't crack those books baby.We got therm public sector jobs all sewn up indeed.

Maybe my carrier will be able to get rested up over the weekend and actually deliver the mail through the week. I got the grocery ads 11 times last year. When I called the post office, they insisted that they were being delivered. Guess they were invisible. And she never brings the notices for registered mail to my door. I've been home every time. Guess she's just too tired to walk a few extra steps.

About time the cut days. I for one will never miss Saturday mail. Most is junk anyway. They should go to a four day week.

I suggest taking it even further and delivering only 3 days a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday would be good.

actually, thats not a bad idea at all. the po is stopping saturday delivery to save money so why stop there? cutting mail delivery back to just 4 days would save the po even more money wouldn't it?
of course this makes too much sense so its not going to happen.

With the internet and E-mail, I don't believe people would miss it. What they are afraid of is that advertizing and commercial business would drop off.

How would you like to be one of the baby boomers today. We worked hard and did the right thing. We saved a little money for retirement only to see it stagnate. No decent interest rate. Yes you can put it in the stock market but you stand to lose what you do have. I remember under Carter, we were getting 14% on CD's at the bank. What does this mean? It means more retired people will depend on the government. It will mean more middle class citizens that has work hard in their life will be one of the poor.
