Sure, Christie carried NJ, but there was never much doubt in that race. He's actually somewhat sane and very moderate compared to a lot of other R's, and has the benefit of a lot of publicity over the past few years, even if some of it was just due to being a loudmouth. Any challenger would have had to outspend him by a factor of five to have a hope.
Elsewhere, though, the TP took a shellacking.
Terry McAuliffe (D) beat Ken Cuccinelli (R/TP) in VA
Ralph Northam (D) won the Lieutenant Governor spot in VA
Bill de Blasio (D) won New York Cityís mayoral contest
Martin Walsh (D) will be Bostonís next mayor
Mike Duggan (D) won Detroitís mayoral race
Bradley Byrne (moderate R) a former state senator, defeated businessman Dean Young (R/TP) in the GOP primary runoff for Alabama's 1st district
I'm having trouble finding a nice clear list of all other results, but from what I can find, the Tea Party got thumped soundly.
