Happy Sankranti!! The beginning of UttarAyaNa.
Bhaarata/bhaarati means, play of light.(bhaa means light)
True to its name the original lifestyle of Indians and all our festivals are based on light.
Deva means enlightened(NOT a person of 'pale-shining-skin' a british nutty translation)
Every day and throughout the year, the 'Sandhyaa'(Transition from morning, afternoon, and evening in case of a day, ingress into constellations in case of the year, ie., Transition period) is used to tune ourselves to nature as microcosm(pindanda) and macrocosm(brahmanda) are identical as per Indian philosophy and sciences. Even temple architectures use the same. Ex., Gavi-gandhareshwara temple, Bangalore, lodestone legend of konark temple.
Let the light enlighten everyone!
Let us become true Bhaarateeyaas!
