Archaeology and the struggle for Jerusalem

There are 1 comment on the BBC story from Feb 5, 2010, titled Archaeology and the struggle for Jerusalem. In it, BBC reports that:

"I like to travel and when I travel, I like to have a guide book. Here in Jerusalem, that guide book is the Tanah, the Bible." This is how guide Asher Altshul likes to start his tours at the expansive City of David archaeological site in Jerusalem.

why can't an otherwise good article like this get their facts straight when they write an article like this? the arab village of silwan came into existence after the israeli war for independance, when this portion of jerusalem fell to the muslims and the jordanians illegally annexed it and drove out or murdered the jews who were living there. for the next 18 years, under illegal jordanian occupation, the jewish town was 'settled' by muslims.
