PRESSURE is intensifying by the hour on Gaeltacht Minister Eamon O Cuiv to stand in the Euro elections following the shock decision of sitting MEP Sean O Neachtain this week to pull out of the race.

Jump on it Eamon. Think of it: get away from this doomed-to-failure Cabinet. Stay offside in Brussels for a few years. The party will be indebted to you for the big favour you will have done them and you can return in triumph a la de Gaulle when the Kenny Coalition has made a complete hames of it and Fianna Fail is desperate for a new leader.
And maybe put the son up for the by-election...
