as long as china doesn't claim its territories indonesia will remain neutral in any south cina se conflicts and can even play a role as peace broker. we shouldn't forget a long time ago java king krtanegara was the only ruler to oppose mongol china expansion to the south. however western intelligence agencies spied on the country's leaders some military officers are seeking to build closer ties with chine despite their anti-communist rhetoric (particularly when one of them is running for public office or has a stage)
