No, there are no tax dollars at work here. This is all volunteer manpower and donation funded.

Good grief these people have lost everything and continue to be hit with devastation and that's all you can think about! What a sad world we live in to think we have such heartless people in it that you have no compassion for those who may be cold, hungry and especially the elderly and children.

umm, fire dept and rescue squad are 2 different organizations, so I doubt it.
Fire dept is simply being used as a drop=off point.
