Romney takes "feel-your-pain" tone as Sandy slams East Coast

Oct 29, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Reuters

Hurricane Sandy, one of the biggest storms ever to hit the United States, battered the densely populated East Coast on Monday, shutting down transportation, forcing evacuations in flood-prone areas and interrupting the presidential election campaign.

Um, no. It merely shows the haplessness of the poster in question. Mr. Obama will help as many as he can, but some can't be helped...:)

The National Booze Index.
Recent earnings reports from premium booze makers suggest people may be moving up-market and leaving the cheap stuff behind signaling that the economy is improving. Premium alcohol companies like Beam and Boston Beer are reporting very positive quarters; expect more good things to come. Budweiser, the world's biggest beer company, is seeing volumes slip suggests consumers are starting to be a bit freer with their spending. This helps back up the recent upward movement in consumer confidence with actual evidence based on consumer behavior.

Strictly gossip and innuendo - document it!!
Ever since the first-black-president-to-be appeared on the national political stage, a cottage industry of wingnuz conspiracy theorists has churned out a never ending litany of semi-insane conspiracies unprecedented in all of the world’s history. Look at the Obama Conspiracy Chart: http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/10/c...

Sure you don't. If he was white, Mitt and the rest of you teabag wingnuts would have thrown in the towel already. And his name is President Obama. Douchebag. Get used to it for another four years.

Isn’t it interesting, but not surprising, to hear Republican pundits go on and on crowing last night about how divisive Obama was during this campaign and how it will hurt him when trying to govern. But this is coming from the party (The Grand Old Hypocrites) that began this campaign by questioning the Obama’s citizenship and religion (among other things), whose leaders met even before his inauguration to discuss how they would obstruct his efforts and how they will use this fiscal crisis to assure he was a one term president. It rings not only hollow but divisive and desperate.

Neanderthal Allen West loses to Democrat Patrick Murphy – good riddance teatime is over! Semi-retard Joe Walsh back to selling used cars ...

The Republican party had better take a lesson from this election. The lesson that is needed to be learned by them is that they better wise up and come to grips with these ideas

That same sex marriage IS going to happen and WILL be the law of the land soon.

That it is ok to believe in other deities or not to believe in a deity at all if that is the person's choice.

That women know better than a bunch of old white men what to do with their bodies.

That minorities are here to stay and they can vote. And if they aren't careful, they themselves may fast become the minority.

That obstruction or acting the petulant child doesn't work anymore and the people of the US are tired of it.

If they can learn these simple lessons, there maybe hope for them. If not, then there may not be a GOP to be had in the very near future.

Exactly so. Their demographics are terrible; they can't win with just white people voting for them, especially if white women are starting to doubt Republican values. They couldn't believe Obama's people could put their coalition together again, and it killed them.

They're gonna have to address black Americans, Latinos, gays, and women and start talking their language or they're going to end up a kind of John Birch Society filled with crazies who get very few votes.

Not that I'd care, but it's their party...:)

Still prattling about Katrina after all this time and all the facts?
If you want to place blame, look no further than Mayor Nagin, who didn't put the federally filed and approved NO evacuation plan into affect. And the stupid governor, who hemmed and hawed for eighteen hours after she was advised to, before ordering mandatory evacuations.
All city and school buses were to be used to evacuate those without transportation.
None of those buses moved, and the media choppers kept flying over parking lots filled with buses exactly because they knew the buses were supposed to be used.
Makes the Superdome the emergency shelter, but with five days notice, didn't stock it with water, food, sanitation or security personel to keep the NO hoodlums from wreaking havoc.
Had armed gangs roaming the city, citizens and plenty of uniformed officers too busy looting to get out of harms way. Those same gang bangers were shooting at rescuers in the days that followed.
3000 rescues happened the day after Katrina in three states. Cities in Alabama and Mississippi suffered far less fatalities and people in need of rescue because the governors and the mayors did what they are supposed to do...they made sure everyone got out. Biloxi was practically wiped off the map, but there were very few fatalities because no one was there.
Hate Romney? Good for you. Blaming Bush for NO and all the people who, for various reasons, decided to try and ride it out? Ridiculous.
Republicans will never ever admit that they sat on their worthless hands while a city of people drowned an suffered for days.Your then leader took a fly over saw that the situation was bad,an still he did nothing.Deny it all you want but i saw what happened,an there,s no way people should have went for days like that.

And you will never admit that the governor and Mayor Nagin completely dropped the ball.
It isn't the job of the federal government to implement the federally filed and approved emergency plans, but that of the municipality and the State. Governors also have to make formal requests for federal aid...Blanco dragged her feet. Many of NO emergency evacuation plans were not implemented and all those people were ordered to evacuate...and they didn't. Some couldn't, some decided to risk it, since that region goes through hurricanes all the time...and some simply thought the government had it under control. Or they thought the emergency shelter was an option...you know, the one that wasn't prepared at all?
Bush was the President, but he never got a vote from me. So stick your sanctimonious BS where the sun doesn't shine.
There's another disaster going on right now...people were flooded out, washed out to sea, children were drowned, swept away by waves and now, over two weeks later, too many still have no power, nowhere to live, no gasoline and it took a week to get FEMA and other organizations in there just to start handing out food and water. Lineman who came from out of state to help were turned away because they weren't union members.
These people are in the same boat as those in NO were, with the added disadvantage of temperatures below freezing every night, but we don't have media outlets camped in their communities and we aren't seeing it 24/7 on television. So, where's the Fed? Where's the President? He made one visit to NJ, then took off to campaign. Got any outrage over that?
