Vote on Fire Island phone service Thursday

A plan to eliminate landline phone service in western Fire Island is scheduled to be voted on by the state Public Service Commission Thursday amid concern it could leave people on the barrier island unable to make calls if a storm knocks out electrical power.

How can verizon do that to so many customers who have been loyal to them all these years Isn't it enough that the people of fire island have suffered because of the hurricane? Now we have verizon on the bandwagon as well as everyone else to take advantage. It's shamful what they are doing.

The fire island are providing very good services and are at their best now days so that is going to be very much helpful and will help us a lot.
