I wonder if they are accepting applications for employment.

The issue with the Inn is not lack of income. It has been plagued with poor management for too long.
Not so much poor management, as it is management having to meet the "special" wants of the tribal leaders. Would never have happened if Wendell was still alive.
Bring back Paul Ortega he can turn things around fast.
It's about time the tribal council got rid of the bad apples. It's disappointing to learn about the massive lay-offs, but if upper management was doing their job accordingly and fair this wouldn't have happened. It seems to me that certain individuals are there for personal gain for themselves. As a tribal member I feel obligated to know what is happening with our tribal enterprises.

The Inn will never succeed as long as the Tribal people have anything to do with it.
there last night and the machines have been tightened....see how the tables hold out....that is the only thing the tribe or any other of the management can't control....may have better chances at the tables in the long run....

If they are having financial issues, then why isn't the RUIDOSO NEWS demanding the State of New Mexico & US GOVT change the compacts that were signed , so the Casino would be profitable? The resort is a major cog in drawing tourist to the area & is opened YEAR ROUND.
Seems rather hypocritical that Fitzwater is not writing a editorial to try to save the INN. Oh, never mind. We know who does not own the INN. |
I saw the article in print first. What a way to sell a newspaper. Much is speculation of "massive layoffs".
The article states it knows of 4 layoffs per the SEC....But it may be up to 200. Why not find out the number of layoffs before printing 200 layoffs??? |

Re: Change compacts: Either you're uninformed or just an idiot. The reason Fitzwater is just one of the many backers to changing the tax structure of the race track is the current tax rates were (unfairly) higher for the track than the tribal casino. Even with the tax rate change, the tribal casinos enjioy a better tax structure than does the racetrack. Well, Change, here's your sign.
As for "Jake" complaining about the headlines, maybe he could suggest a better one. With the sacking of the CEO, CFO, director of marketing and the director of casino operations, I would have to say that would be classified as "Major". As to "why not find out the number", maybe no one at the Inn was available to quantify the complete number. Let me spectulate, you just pick up the phone and call "info" at the inn???? Sheesh. As for just not printing the story until all the facts were in, you would probably scream that the paper was either incompetent or trying to hide something. So, Jake, here's your sign, too. Both of you: Wear them proudly! |

Why dont all you people just shut up and stop the gossip! I know there are alot of people who would love to see the inn go under but heres a news falsh for ya... ITIS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN! every one in lincoln county andotero county better listen up n listen well... stopspreading all the stupid rumors and start looking for ways to help fix the problem! remember brfore the inn and ski resort was built your towns were NOTHING just a poor village near a reservation. it is because if the twobusiness that you get any customers in your businesses thay employ the majorityofthe people in your towns which spend money in your businesses so EVERYONE IS EFFECTED BY THE LIES YOU SPREAD. if the inn goes under you all will go under as well! likea domino effect. so stop the whining and gossip n stick to the facts and look for ways to help fix the problem. REMEMBER Ruidoso would be NOTHING WITHOUT THE INN AND SKIAPACHE. BUSINNESS COME AND GO and if u all participate in the gossip then u r only hanging you own selfs.

Hey Cheryl why don,t You tell us what you really think and while you are there could you please lead me to the special slot machines that only pay out to the special people. |
DEC From CA.... Slot Machines Operate based on percentages.. Based on how often they are played will determine who wins.. any Idiot off the streets would know that... further more the Percentages are not just set by the tribe they are also set by the state of New Mexico and the Federal Government. So u must be pretty damn stupid if you think there are "Special Slot Machines" ... the state and the feds and the tribes monitor ALL gaming activity. so nothing is done Illegally. if there was wouldnt u think one of the three would catch it?
I am ready for you to tell me that never happened! |
The problem is easily fixed. Hire people with experience to run the casino. Use criteria such as background, employment history etc instead of who you are related to to get hired into management. |
DEC.. If know so much why dont you tell me ???
I allready did ,I quit going there!

No, El Paso, I am neither uninformed nor an idiot. You are real quick with your name calling for one who says so little. Rather juvenile, don't you think.
How much history do you want on the compacts? Shall I go back to the first ones in the US or just NM?How about the whole reservation "system" that we have set up? If you had any real knowledge or were even one bit honest you would know that the reservations that have casinos in the United States all have tax rates that were established with the full intent to give them a lower tax rate than a non-res casino. They were never meant to have the same rate as regular US based operation, even if they compete with Hubbard. Your whole post is rather silly. I don't know which is the funniest, you taking up for the pitiful excuse of a paper that is having to furlough their employees to stay afloat or trying to so blindly defend Hubbard that you ignore( or have no knowledge) of why the compacts were even established to start with. Keep on using cliches form 15 years ago, that makes you look real good too. |
