"Police are investigating a possible cougar sighting in Stillwater this morning."

The arriving officer showed up with his best cologne on,some wine coolers,a Neil Diamond CD and a pack of condoms just in case the cougar was in heat.

I think there's a bit of misinformation going on when a wolf specialist for the DNR says it's unusual to have a cougar in the state. I've heard through channels in the DNR that there has been a cougar resident in Wash. Co. for at least 10 years. Maybe he's poo-pooing this possible sighting as hysterics. But there is a real possibility that there is a resident population in the state... in my humble, non-expert opinion.
A neighbor told me another one of our neighbors saw a cougar walking in her front yard.and this was about 10 years ago.. Plus,The Dnr did not inform us thru the local media that coyotes were everywhere in the metro and to be on the lookout...{over 15 yrs ago,}as simple as that...but..they.only respond to reporter,s inquires..Coyotes eat cats and small dogs, so watch your pets..

2 yrs ago, this newspaper showed a photo of a black bear walking in a farm field..that was just across the road from my place..12 or so years ago another bear was around here, the info at the voting place was the bear was killed by officials and its tongue was cut out..I believe the poor thing got its tongue cut off while trying to get food out of a raccoon trap.

I live in Stillwater and a couple weeks ago we heard a strange noise at night. One we have never heard before. I did some research on the noise and found out it was a female cougar in heat. She has been in Stillwater for awhile now.
IS SHE HOT? WHAT'S HER ADDRESS?

There was a guy who had a cougar named Ziggy in Stillwater about 15-20 years ago and he lived in that exact neighborhood. The City adopted a wild animal ordinance and made it alomost impossible to keep the cougar in town so the owner and Ziggy moved out of town (or at least Ziggy had to leave town). Maybe Ziggy has come back to his old neighborhood!!

I live in Lake Elmo and about 18 years ago I spotted a cougar, watched it run across the beach and through the neighbors yard. It was susequently sighted numerous times by neighbours. I called the DNR and Mike Smith came and looked at the tracks in the sand on the beach and verified that they were cougar prints. We have had recent reports this summer that a cougar has been sighted however I think this time around it is the red fox as one evening this spring he feasted on a freshly caught duck while sitting in my daughters garden. We found the head and feet along with corn that had spilled out of the duck's crop along with a pile of feathers. The most outstanding feature I recall about the cougar was the tail, very long, about as long as the cougar itself and it had a tuft on the end of the tail and on both ears.

The cougar was spotted at 10:30 a.m. passing through a backyard. Give her a break, she was trying to make it to her car :)

Some of those pathetic cougars must have gotten off the skanker tanker Booty Cruise and swam to shore.
