My grandfather, John Chesley (born Feb. 21,1888-died October 9,1926), was born in Papa, Hungary and married and died in Missoula, Montana, USA, when my mother was about seven. We have his naturalization papers that say he emmigrated January 1, 1905 from Havre, France on the LaLorraine. His parents Martin Chesley and Katherine Henes (or Nenes) were Hungarian. We cannot find his immigration records as I believe his name was probably not Chesley. Perhaps Cselley? Kastely? How can we contact Hungarian records? We will be coming to Papa, Hungary May 20 and 21, 2010. Where can we go to seek information on his Hungarian family. I do have two pictures of his mother and twin sisters.
