Come on Pesky,
there are editors at the Prague Post, who are responsible for the text published in the newspaper or the online edition.

Vollebaek reiterated what he had already written in a report on the act for the Slovak government: that the law is in line with international standards, providing it is implemented properly. However, he clarified some of his statements that he said had been misinterpreted by politicians on both sides along the way.
OSCE on Slovakia's side in language dispute
Knut Vollebaek has taken Bratislava's side in the dispute between Slovakia and Hungary over Slovakia's new language law, saying it does not contravene international law.
"The international scandal that the Hungarians hoped the passing of the law would provoke is not going to happen. The hysterical Hungarian politicians have lost. The peaceful tone of the OSCE was to be expected. Vollebaek has a reputation for taking a very rational view of minorities issues and advocates adhering to two principles. First the state must respect minorities and their rights. Second, the minority must respect the state. Slovakia is trying to follow both principles. The Hungarian minority is guaranteed extensive rights.... In mixed areas [where the minority lives] the minority is guaranteed the right to speak their language as well."

Your citation is from here:
http://www.eurotopics.net/en/archiv/results/a...

The author is a slovak guy, this is an extract, while the full text is available only is slovak if someone follows the link. I have educated myself, and it was godd to have an insight what is communicated to the slovak people regarding this issue. Thank you!:-)

But all in all, the original article was published in a czech periodical, and written by an english guy. I think we can regard it more independent than yours.

there are several views, therefore may i suggest, just tell your magayr family to speed up in learning slovak, to avoid being fined.
Is he a hang-glider who got carried away by the winds, or a smuggler carried away by desire for illicit income?

Ukrainian authorities are trying to determine how a Hungarian man ended up deep inside their territory wearing a flight suit, a helmet and a night-vision device.

The man, who claims he was just enjoying a routine flight when strong winds blew him over the border Friday night, was detained for illegal border crossing and suspected cigarette smuggling...
bacsi,
did you have anything to do with it ?
you are pretty sneaky chap.

Pesky,

how can they fine me, I'm very rarely in Slovakia. It has happened twice in the last 20 years... But if I go there I'll play the german tourist Ok?

Anyway this language issue is not a new one; during the 80's my parents visited Czechslovakia, and they could get support if the were speaking german. Then they said a joke (in Hungarian), that apparently Uncle Gustaw is supervising them,
they were only grinning without an answer. But this was before the democracy and freedom, what we got in 1989-1990.

Anyway the weather here in Hungary is quite nice.

Regarding the slovak propaganda, it seems that you could hear only one sentence from Mr. Vollebaek, that the law is in accordance with the european standards. While this is the for sure true, once Mr. Vollebaek said, but he said some more, and you are not willing to speak about this.

This was the reasoon why I suggested to speak about the weather instead...

The people of Hungary have done much to improve Central Europe. The only people who put down the Hungarians are barbaric people who don't like being civilized.
