I hope we don't send our military down there again to stop those animals from killing eachother. We've done it 4 times in the last hundred years. They live in a tropical paradise. They should be living in luxury. Instead they're starving to death and dropping like flies from AIDS.

Is it safe for missionaries to work in Les Cayes? How bad does it have to get before church groups stop sending their people there?

Have you been to Haiti? It may have been paradise 100 years ago, but not today. I would not call eating MAYBE every other day, sleeping on a dirt floor, drinking only dirty water that you have to walk 2 miles to get living in luxury. Animals? They are human being being forced to live like animals. I just returned from Les Cayes on Monday, and the Haitian people I know are loving and gentle. They are far better people than I. Walk in someone's shoes before you speak. If I was forced tolive the way they do, I too would protest!

Is it safe for missionaries to work in China? In a place where Christian have been put to jell in kill for their belief. I hope you don't have a ralationship with God. If you do, you need to take a look at the way you think and ask God help you out with that. It never mathers if it safe or not when it come to missionaries. What mathers is, where those God want me to go. Other wise, 90% of the would not have missionaries at all.

I go to Les Cayes and provide dental work. These are loving, kind and very clean people. They are just sheep without a shepherd, as many of us were. They need food, water, shelter, clothing and medical care. They need hope for a better future. They need our prayers and support. These same conditions happened in America 40 years ago and one man(with the help of many others) made a difference. Who will be the MLK for Haiti? Who will be the Ghandi of Haiti? God wants justice but through non violence. Prayerfully, this can happen.

I am a Haitian student in the United States. I am writing to let you know that I forgive your ignorance. I am encouraging you to go a library and read books about what makes poor countries poor. After you do, if you really have a human heart, you should be ashamed of your profanity.

Oh, and, I almost forgot, about 80% of the Haitian population have parasitic worms. American dogs are healthier. Make all the excuses you want to. Facts (what some people like to confuse with profanity) speak for themselves, and these people just cannot govern themselves.

By the way, if this Stat is accurate I wonder why the hundred of children I know in the little slum where I came from are presumed to be carriers of worms since none of them were tested, to my knowledge.? Coming from Haiti, I would admit that my country has a lot of problems, but we should not deny the fact that organizations use stat to promote their institution.

I also want you to know that Haitians are Human-beings, and it is a shame that American dogs are being treated better than most of them. And I am also ashamed that my refrigerator has food that I probably will not eat and so many children are dying everyday around the world.I think the rest of us who are fortunate enough to be were we are should grow compassion for the poor.
May God change your heart, brother

Joey- True, the U.S. presence in Haiti does not have a good record, but you called the people "animals." On what do you base this? And I see that you "should" all over them as well. The Haitian people act the way they do because there IS such DEPRIVATION. I've worked with the Haitians on the other side of the border in the DR and all they want is a chance. You blame the people without having the background as to why and how the situation arose. Re the AIDS situation, sad, but true. But to lump all Haitians into your generalities is hard.

The situation in Haiti is bad , sad, and otherwise unacceptable; BUT there are a lot of people and organizations that do care about the people and are attempting to Do something about teaching the Haitian people to pick themselves up out of the hell they live in. Food, education, cloting, medical care are only a few things that come to Haiti from compassionate people in the States. Look deeper- people like Joey- and you'll see GOD at work there in Haiti. Much willhappen in '08 to prove you wrong

You can say anything you want to say about Haiti, but remember that Haiti helped you get your independence and now its time for you to help us
do something good with haiti. Don't send the Military to have fun, But send engineering doctors to help us educate the people.
