Actually, the way Topix has stuff set up, threads will show up in multiple different forums at once. While you may be seeing this as a Haiti thread, it's also listed under Homeopathy and probably under Alternative Medicine as well.
Having said that, I agree with your analysis that ipk is wasting everyone's time.
I am sure that you are correct and I can admit one thing. I had never heard the word "homeopathy" before this site came along even though I was aware of there being fraudulent elixirs and "holistic" practices advertised prolifically. I had mistakenly assumed that most people were intelligent enough to overlook them.
I see now that they have been "legitimized" with a high sounding name. It is the same old fraud.
Yours and Mark's posts have opened my eyes and ears.
Just yesterday, I heard an commercial for an over-the-counter copy of a popular prescription medicine for just $19.95. The word "homeopathic" remedy was subtly used in the commercial. Later I heard yet another similar commercial and in the fast talking disclaimer the word "placebo" jumped out as if it were a legitimate explanation for its credibility. I guess that disclaimer was designed to keep them from being sued.
It is sad that Topix has intermingled posts in such a way that since March 26, 2010, when a person innocently signs in with interest in the plight of the Haitians, he can suddenly be flooded with free commercials for junk science, because the subject "Homeopathy preys on the desperate" is always kept alive by the regular circuitous banter. I suspect that this is purposely done by the "homeo" perpetrators.
I can only believe that the high sounding promoters of "homeopathy" on this site must be justifying their own fraudulent practices against some innocent people somewhere. They simply can't be spending this much effort on a hobby.
Sad, but termites are reality.
