The City Council voted last night to take a relationship already being developed by a local charitable organization a step further, establishing a sister city relationship with the town of Fonde Fred, Haiti.

@ Cookie Monster...It is an Awareness Campaign.

Mayor Mark P Hawke said the city cannot provide money for the effort. But what it can do, he said, is raise awareness of the effort by joining Sister Cities International and creating a sister city relationship with Fonde Fred.

“The benefit to Gardner is that it would be able to play a key role in development of a worthy project in a Third World country,” he said.
