You guys have to change the word "poor" about the island. Poverty exists even in your own country. You are denigrating the country. You put the country so low in your mind, that even a high school student doing a community service to go to Haiti is a big deal. I just want you to know that, there are Haitian scholars following you guys. Please refer to Haiti as the unfortunate island instead of poor. You are complicating our life.
Thank you,

Denigrating the country? A group of students is attempting to help a nation in need - Haiti has a 1,300 per capita GDP and an overall GDP of $11.38 Billion while the per capita GDP in the United States is $45,800 (40 times higher) with an actual GDP of $13.84 TRILLION.

Vlad Haiti is absolutely a poor nation - and appears on "Poorest Nations In The World" lists everywhere.

Is Haiti poor in terms of human spirit, culture? Not at all - but a poor nation without a doubt.

"Unfortunate" ?? I am not following you at all - Haiti is a poor nation and thankfully people are willing to lend a hand and help Haiti out as much as possible.

Your point is confusing and sounding a bit ungrateful - how would you define "unfortunate"??
