It's apparent this individual has little experience with Haiti or the Caribbean as a whole... that, or he's a typical Caribbean journalist with a disjointed agenda that one day claims "America's an Evil Colonial Power!" or the next "America Needs to Send Us More Money!" Either way, blaming the Haitian response (or lack of) on the 2004 coup is just plain wrong. Notwithstanding the fact that the 2004 coup, in which Haiti's president asked the US to evacuate him when the rebels were about to invade his home and kill him - and then later claimed the US "kidnapped" him, was only the most recent in a long line of coups, problems and other messes that Haiti has created for itself. Those who have spent time working in the Caribbean (not just went to Sandals) know that the US is not responsible for the poor management of the island's leadership, the competing agendas, and the inability to shake the "blame it on the imperialists!...but they still need to send us money..." attitude.
