Repubs would always argue against the "government interference" in the form of regulations that Dems tend to fight for... but give thanks to our regulations, safety codes, and other strict building codes enforced because of the Democractic Party's push for regulation.

You seldom here of a bus being packed with 300 plus people in the U.S.. And are building codes work to protect from tragedies like we read in this story.

This is incredibly sad. 2008 has definitely not been a good year for Haiti.

Indeed a sad event, but one has to look hard at Haiti and the bastards that have run it into the ground... the Duvaliers, Aristide etc.
Are Haitians charmed senseless by the juju of the politicos?
Travel to the other side of the island, to the Dominican Republic and things are much nicer.
How strange.

Haiti suffers the insults of intractible poverty, environmental devastation, overpopulation and irremedial lack of infrastructure. Don't blame it all on politicians.
