Lets not forget that China is the oldest continious civilization on earth. They were the supreme superpower for over 2000 years. They influenced the West greatly, giving us silk, gunpowder, paper, rockets and so on... In the 15th century, the chinese emperor sent expeditions to rest of Asia and Africa ( perhaps even to America, before Columbus ) to find out if there were any other equal civilizations out there. There was not. Instead of thinking like a westerner, lets conquer, pillage and kolonize, they decided to isolate them selves from the rest. For that I think the chinese deserve respect.

Europes dark middleages was in fact the golden age of the Arab civilization. At that time, science and knowledge was higly valued. The first universities in Europe were in moorish Spain. The arabs contributed in the fields of matematics ( algebra ) chemistry ( an arab word ) and medicine ( first hospitals ). Without arabs, most knowledge about the greek filosophers would be lost. Bagdad was a city larger than Rome.

The western, christian civilization owns a lot to those two other. And what they are now does not reduce their enormous contribution. Today we live in the golden age of the West, but as history shows, things change.

yes china did great and good things in the past but today china is a communist dictatorship. china is a disgrace today.
