So an astronaut gave his opinion on the immigration issue. Why should it carry any more weight than the opinion of an athlete, a teacher, an actor, etc?????

Its his personal view, and he's allowed to have his own opinions no matter how WRONG! Illegal immigrants should NEVER be legalized, they are a drain on the country's resources, ie health care, and they do not contribute taxes etc They send the money earned back to Mexico. there are enough LEGAL americans who can do all the work that these illegal ALIENS provide.

So you have seen every check from every illegal individual working in the U.S.? That's amazing! You got it all wrong! These are the people using a social security card valid or invalid. There are millions getting paid under the table with no deductions. The others using a valid social security number are most likely stealing someone elses identity, which is a big fallout of illegal immigration. If you have been a victim of this crime and you still agree to opening the flood gates for illegal immigrants, then you're an idiot! I don't take issue to this guy voicing his opinion, because that is his right. But if he is using his position to push his agenda then it is wrong! Just like the celebs that do it.

I have no Agenda first and foremost.

I have not seen every illegal, but I have seen many, and they are all paying taxes toward OUR retirement, our systems and our states and federal, so every bit helps.

Calling me an idiot does not help your message come across as like you said we are entitled to our opinions, yours isnt mine and I havent called you a name.

Because they are usually more educated than an athlete, a teacher, or an actor.

So how come they've beeb doing it for more than 100 years Einstein? How come you see so many whites begging under the freeway for money for boo... food? Why don't they get a job like the illegals? Because they are too lazy to work, that's why.

You are absolutely right. They do pay taxes and it is money that most of them will never collect towards their retirement. I think that the real reason for this stubborness towards their legalization is the desire to continue to have an "invisible" underclass by some.

Or maybe they have this crazy notion of obeying the laws of this country and assimilating to become productive citizens of this country.

well considering they aren't citizens of this country why should they be entitled to retirement from our country. It's not like they keep the money here in America or followed the rules in coming here. The real reason for the stubbornness towards their legalization is because they broke the law when millions of others people are waiting their turn to come here. Also illegal aliens are far from invisible when you look at our jails, emergency rooms, and schools where their children are stretching the system beyond capacity. All costs that our tax dollars have to pay for. There will always be an underclass of people anywhere in the world

I do not feel that our country should be host to people who come illegally. HOWEVER, your assertion is based on what facts? I assure that your gross generalization is absolutely incorrect.

So some humans do not evolve out of their racist ideas in the future? They remain the same such as people like yourself?

maybe taht's not a bad idea. Think about, if they are made legal, that means no more food stamps, no more medicaid, no more free visits to the hospital, no more free education. Dam! that just might work in the best interest of the country. And of course if they are made legal, they will take a better interest in who they want put in office and we can get rid of obama in 2012

well there are 20,000 illegal aliens in the California Prison System alone who I can assure you aren't working in the fields picking crops and cost the California taxpayers $50,000 a year for each inmate. How about the illegal aliens mommies with 5 kids in tow who are abusing the food stamp program because their rug rats are US citizens due to an abused law that was meant for slaves in the 1860s. Illegal aliens are estimated to be 17% of the federal prison system and last I heard there were no lettuce farms in those facilities either
