I really need your help and/or opinions on what I should do about an on-going problem I've been facing against the City of Houston(water department). They keep reading my water meter incorrectly!! They've done this before and it took them 6 months to fix the problem(In the end they twist things around and I have to pay for water I am definitely not consuming). For example, when they bill me, under the section that says "current reading" it says 577 but when I go check my meter it is only at 530. I am extremely frustrated with this situation because when I call everyone is very rude and insinuate I am lying so that I can pay less. I know I am getting overcharged for at least 10,000 extra gallons. Is there anyone I can call for help? They will not listen or send anyone out to fix the meter!!

Please please help!! I've tried speaking with supervisors but they are too very rude!

I am having a similar issue with the Houston water company. i make regular payments to them each month through a local pay center. they take the money no problem until this month when i was late. i made the payment and thought i would call it in just to make sure they got it. but when i gave the receipt number they told me the payment didn't show up in there records. and i must of not made the payment at a "city authorized payment center" to which i replied. "i have been making payments there for over a year now and there has been no problems up until now" she says "well the number you gave don't match our records so the balance is still there. as if i didn't pay at all which means they can charge me fees on top of it. it's redeculus and i am going to tell them when they try to charge me the fees that im not paying them just because there system is slow in showing payments made.
