This is heartbreaking. I feel for her children I just cant imagine how they must feel. I would have fought back to if my 4 month old was in the car. Oh wait its against the law to leave a baby in the car alone! I hate that this happed to this family but I would never leave a defenseless child in a car alone whether I am running in real quick or not. It takes 1 minute to take the carrier with you and 1 minute to put it back in the holder then she would have had a lifetime with this and her other children.

They need to catch them and string them up. Pathetic two, if they had half a heart they would go turn themselves in to the cops. Problem is they have no heart they did not care about anything but themselves. Hope they are shot on the spot when the police catch up with them.

I'm sure the fact that YOU would have never left your baby is very comforting to this family.
This is so tragic. My deepest sympathy goes out to this family.

Dixi, Why are you so mad? I thought Rebbecka had a very good point.
This is a very different world we live in compared to when I was young.
30 or 40 years ago leaving a child in the car for a quick trip in the store was fairly common. Now with increasing violent crime I would never leave my child in a car unattended. Times have changed.

This IS a tragedy; but Rebecca's point is painfully valid.

This isn't about sparing someone's feelings, not anymore. The damage was done by two creeps in a stolen car.

This is about warning people to be prepared and realistic about the world in which we live.

If the child was with the mother, then HERE, take the stupid keys and leave us alone! But the mother was fighting to save a child who was made more vulnerable by being LEFT ALONE IN THE CAR. What might have amounted to bruises and emotional trauma and personal inconvenience instead ended with death.

My sincerest condolences go out to this family, but as harsh as it may sound, Mom screwed up. I'm very, very sorry for the situation, but that doesn't make the screw-up less true.

This is damn pitiful. People like that make me ill to my stomach. To plead with someone to not take the baby in the car they are wanting to steal and then they stab the mother to death is pathetic. Those people have no regards for human life and most likely not even their own for what will become of them when they do get caught because they will be caught.

I am not mad. I just don't think it to be the appropriate time to point out that she would have never left her baby. We all know it is not something you should do but the mother has been murdered and you can't change the facts. I'm sure her family is painfully aware of that.

I agree Dixi. People here think that you never take your eyes off a child. You do. It is going to happen. It is not the mothers fault. She did nothing wrong. Running into a store with the baby in the car is not negligence. She was obviously watching from inside the store in case something happened. You don't expect something to happen. Every parent does it. Most do not result in a car jacking or having the child towed away. Some of these people live in a fantasy world that everything is supposed to be perfect. It isn't folks!

My prayers go out to the family. Know that the mother was doing the right thing. Sorry she had to die in the process.

yeah i mean personally when i go in to even get a stamp from the machine in the post office i take my baby. the bottom line is that the mother didnt and this happened. her family doesnt need to hear i would have taken the baby in because that doesnt help now. if she really didnt care about her baby she wouldnt have fought for the baby's life.

Honestly, I think she had him beat when he got back in his. She went back for the keys and got stabbed. She should of let them go, after all, he wasn't taking her car. This is sad and I think both of the guys should be set on fire.

Never EVER leave a kid in a car...not even to "run in" for something. How is it that idiots STILL don't understand this?? If babies are too much trouble for you then don't have them!!!!

No. Every parent doesn't do this. What world do YOU live in? Most people know better than to leave a kid alone in a car. It's not the mother's fault that those evil thugs did this but the whole situation wouldn't have happened if she wouldn't have left her kid alone in the car. Eric I hope you don't have kids, if you think it's ok leaving kids alone in a car.

If you have kids, they will probably be gay because you shelter them so much or they won't be able to do anything for themselves. I live in the real world. You idiot!

I disagree I think it is an appropriate time as others reading thig forum who leave there children in the car this is a reminder to them they shouldnt. Dont get me wrong this story breaks my heart. These children will now grow up with no mother and I just cant even begin to image what the family as a whole is having to go through in this difficult time.

I am just wondering why his kids would turn out gay? That is really childish to say in this forum. I send my thoughts to the family that lost someone and to the child(ren) who have to be raised without a mother.
