Same deal on craigslist today 4-27-07.
Wolf DF366 for $950 shipped. email address is now [email protected] They claim to be from florida- shipping a 460 lb range to pa included. Shipping alone would be at least 500. Duh! Not only are they scammers but not very good ones. The story now goes "range was uninstalled in their new home- but they wanted their own appliances".

I got scammed using a similar story on/off ebay. A wolfe stove shipping included money was transfered through what appeared to be an ebay safe harbor account. I've never purchased anything over the internet prior to this & will never again. Unbelievable what people will stoop to. Website, email addresses etc. are a dime a dozen and there are no laws in place to protect consumers. Stop using the net to purchase products - go to the actual store.

They are now on Missouri's Craigs List with email [email protected] ... same story about buying a house but wanting to use their old appliances instead of these. I thought it sounded too good to be true. thanks everyone for the info!

We got scammed by this person on Craig's list. The opening line is exactly the same "Hello everyone I am selling off my inventory from my store since my husband has been sick we have descided to retire and close our store." We sent some money Western Union for a folding kayak and haven't heard a word since she picked up the money. The email address in that case was [email protected]

This person is up to the same tricks on Craigslist in Minneapolis (and undoubtedly elsewhere). The new angle is that he/she claims to have bought a house and to be replacing the appliances. The idiocy of this angle is that all of the appliances he/she is replacing are brand new and top of the line, and he/she is willing to sell them for about 15% of the lowest price you will find even on eBay, and will even include free shipping from Florida. But, of course, he/she will not allow you to look at the items even you have a friend in Florida who would be able to do so.
