It's a childrens series of books. There is no such thing as magic in real life.
I presume you don't like Harry Potter, but lots of people do, adults and children alike. It's good for the imagination, a series of stories with magic, witches and wizards as a theme, that's all it is.

Harry potter is wank however the lord of the rings are quite a good trilogy.

Tried Lord of the Rings, couldn't get into it. However, it is very popular too, just not my thing.
