God bless this family. This is bad for all included and more so for the family of the dead. I hope the CCPD does not let this POS back out of jail .

I agree with you. Wonder what slimeball attorney got him off?
from the article :
Court records show that in August 2011, Whisnant was accused of hitting Cassels in the head with a hammer, breaking her jaw. He was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony habitual misdemeanor assault, and misdemeanor assault on a female.
Those on the law side have blood on their hands. I know everyone needs representation but something this severe in 2011 was an alarm going off in the courtroom and nobody heard it? I guess the next victim of abuse who appears in court needs to bring a neon sign with an arrow pointing at the abuser to let everyone know it's a matter of time before this person kills me.
These Caldwell County Macho Redneck Mentality Men (CCMRMM)do not care about what orders are given to them to follow. Restraining Orders to them mean zero. There needs to be Mandatory counseling for every woman beaten to go to the Women's Shelter and stay a week so she knows that there is life outside this dreadful pit of a county. The Judge can make it happen. The Judge sure can let someone out on house arrest but he can't do anything to protect a battered woman? Why? The opportunity was there, all he had to do was order it on that day. Many abused do not even know or are aware of help being available. How many have to die before something is finally done? Abused women become so beaten down mentally and physically all they know is they must stay with their partner, and crack cocaine sure didn't help this situation. This situation needs to be an example that this has to stop. House Arrest in Caldwell County has made the news again -we've all heard about how well this program is working here.

I agree with some of your post but you're kinda off base on the rest. This woman came to his home after she had a protective order against him for beating the hell out of her. How much sense does that make? How can the Police or anyone for that matter protect someone that would something like that? IMHO The drugs the guy might have had were way more important to this woman than her safety and well being were. You can try all you want, you can talk till you're blue in the face but you can't fix someone like that. I truly hate that this happened but a lot of the cause lies with her. She had her chance to get away but chose not too/

She had many oppurtunities to stay away but didnt she also was known to almost every county sheriffs office due to her being in and or around a revolvi g drug issue or even a murder .she was with this man about four years ago was right in the same bed room shooting up .when another man shot this man and it killed him. So id say she was just so bad off on drugs that the hifh meant more to her than the pain from the beatings she took . There is a rumor !!! That michael walked in and caught her in the bed with his 16yr old son does anyone know if this is true or just rumors it was told that is when he snapped and killed her. Its sad she died this way .its sadder this county dont have a detox facility and or other help for all the drug useage. And your wrong about ever woman should have to stay at the womens shelter . That place is full of lies deciet and they try to turn you completely against people they push for these restraini g orders ! That usualy get people killed or hurt badly . Most people in this county hates the law because of the corruptive sheriffs dept so not many have any respect for a piece of paper jail or a deputy. Get real we have the worst county for any services there is .

The grant money is available in DC for this county's to apply for and attempt to build a facility for actual Detox. But, what will happen - nothing. Drugs has ruined this area. But, given its approaching election time, the arrests will be in the newspaper daily. We're going nowhere fast if JONES is reelected, seems like our first attempt to clean up this area begins behind the badges. This is the worst and lowest this department has ever been. The messes are one right after another.
