While this may seem humourous at first, it brings another issue to our attention.

What if this had been a serious life-endangering emergency call? A heart attack, or intruder with a gun or a rape in progress? Cops went to the wrong address !!
Was this due to the dispatcher giving out the wrong info, Or MacDonald screwing up?

responded to the wrong address my @ss.

These "property checks" usually are planned well ahead. They have no right to be on the property otherwise.

A good lawyer should get that tossed. No probable cause to be on property. Also, the guy should've denied it, prove it was his pot plant, they didnt find it on his person. Anyone could've planted the plant, even the cop.

If it's not the Illuminati, then it's the Bildergerg Group or the Tri-Lateral Commission or Knights Templar.

I take it you are or know retired law enforcement because we have a family friend who is a retired Marshall and you have said the truth or they use the bogus "anonymous" tip.

Problem is a good lawyer isn't cheap which is why non rich are an easier target for petty crimes/offences than those with money as those with money can fight it and not pay the fine and police operate on this premise.

Seems about once a week there is an incident of someone getting caught (who knows how many do not get caught) of having sex with dogs.

Probable Cause is needed for an arrest, not to enter upon someone's property. The Officer acted in good faith and observed something in plain view. The story said he left a card and the owner of the plant called and admitted ownership. Sounds open and shut to me. It also sounds as though the owner did the stand up thing by calling and taking responsibility. Also the owner was only charged with Unlawful Possession rather than the crime of growing under the AML. Sounds like the Officer exercised discretion as well. The Officer also took the plant off the street so some 9 year old did not get a hold of it. Good Job.

You can tell who the pot heads are..defending the mans right to grow weed. Proven fact that marijuana use leads to bigger and better highs and the drug use snowball grows. Remember that defense when your children are being beaten up for their lunch money so a kid can buy a joint, or your grandmothers house gets burglarized for her pain meds for the cancer treatments she is going through.

No,no,no.Not defending drug use,but lying about the effects of mary jane, doesn't help. The cat is out of the bag, find a better way to deal with it.Cost over 100,000 thousand dollars a year to keep someone in jail, for using this drug.We can't afford to treat a drug, that's not as dangerous as alcohol and tobacco, this way any longer.Regulate it,and you gain control.Any kid can get MJ,easier then alcohol and tobacco, because its illegal. If it wasn't,there wouldn't be so many idiots getting rich off of it.Use the money, saved from not jailing people, for education and rehab for dangerous drugs. And no,I don't use pot,nor do I want to see people using it,the old way just isn't working.

There are plenty of "potheads" who don't and won't do harder drugs, they stay at pot and booze and cigs.
There are also heroin addicts, cokeheads, bath salters, etc who dont do pot or didnt start with it either.

Remember every drug addict, alcoholic, chain smoker and child touchers all did milk as kids.
