It's only a matter of time before all other countries declare open-season-hunting on them too. Like many parts of Australia have already done.

Anyone see a bit of irony in a program to eliminate feral cats from the Charles Darwin Reserve?

Eh, wot... wot... Wot would Darwin think?

Wow, you english have been giving up your right to self-defense for more than 100 years. Not even your police are armed. Do the bobbys blow their whistles at the criminals to get them to stop?

Darwin would help shoot them. He understood the difference between species that are genetically altered by humans, "domesticating" them, and naturally occurring species that are essential to the health and balance of the planet.

For example, the domesticated cat in the UK has now guaranteed the extinction of their ONLY native cat species. Putting all their ecosystems in complete jeopardy, and eventually, themselves who are dependent on the very habitat that they are destroying with their ignorance -- and their cats. The Brits have never been too bright.

Are u nuts? I've lost count how many times gun owners in the USA have practiced their targeting skills in school yards, truth is guns are 4 spineless, witless, frightened cowards and the sooner they are banned the better.

Wild cats used to be widespread across the UK until dickhead hunters like yourself eradicated them.

True not my call, but Obama would ban guns if he thought he could get away with it.
I've noticed that even in the US overbearing bureaucracy is been introduced and freedoms slowly eroded.

U.S. urban and suburban areas can learn from this situation vis-a-vis coyotes. The damned things are losing their fear of people and are taking unattended pets and sometimes even small dogs on leashes. An AR-15 with a 30 round clip is perfect for coyotes. Just be sure to follow up on any you've hit to make sure they are dead.

Wouldn't it be better to teach irresponsible pet owners to keep their pets under supervision? If you remove the coyotes' food source they go elsewhere. Trouble is, they have to destroy all the outdoor cats in the countryside first so the coyotes' food source can recover. All their normal foods having being destroyed by cats in the first place. That's why they are coming into cities now, trying to find foods because human activities and their pets have destroyed all their natural foods in surrounding areas.

Coyotes move to where the food is. Fluffy and Muffy are easy pickings and preferable to harder to catch wildlife, which is still abundant despite your claims otherwise.
