..... The good health of any economy depends on the total amount of spending per unit of time. Increasing debts lead to more spending, while repaying debts very likely will cause troubles in the economy. Proper timing is very important, also delays of effects influence spending. Politicians can also use time-shifting to make people buy NOW instead of later. Then when LATER comes along miseries come along too.
..... Many businesses depend on there being enough Christmas spending on their goods/services. Compare with previous years!
