'Dora The Explorer' may change a whole generation

Aug 27, 2010 Full story: The State

Don't underestimate her just because she's a little girl. "Dora The Explorer" is a multibillion-dollar franchise that may be creating a more enlightened generation, more open to different people and cultures not their own.

So one of the creators say it may make kids more open minded...And then he says Dora may do that since Dora has darker skin than they do. Hmmm. Guess he means WHITE kids will become more open minded. I know Dora is light skinned compared to a Black kid. I might be nit-picking, but diversity is a two way street. If you expect white people to accept and adapt to YOU, then YOU better do the same. Learning English would be a nice start.

My baby loves the Dora the Explorer story. I bought her a book that you will enjoy viewing whenever you want. Having recently moved to America, making her a good basis for a book in Hungarian, to begin to learn English. Of course we can, because they speak the language a bit wrong.:)

The great thing about Dora The Explorer is that kids learn without even realising they're doing it, whether it's just watching the show or playing Dora games (great little site by the way, if you've got kids like me - http://www.mygames4girls.com/-dora-the-explor... ). Sometimes it's good to be a little sneaky when educating your kids!
