<quoted text>Don't worry he will be ... the whole time he is in the pen! He will their "PRISON EX-COP BTCH"!...
For those who don't know, Pete Collins is not in prison. He committed suicide 2 days into his 10-year sentence.
And for those of you who complain about the "lies" of one woman that got him convicted, the DA found more 5 victims. All were 13 to 15 at the time of their accusations. A pattern.
And why would the accusers keep quiet for decades? Duh. Read this forum and see how many people would never believe such a man would do such a thing.

I knew Pete from law enforcement in Ga and Tn. I spent time with him, took him out to supper with my wife and daughter. We laughed, prayed and spent time together.

I know what was in his heart at that time. If something went wrong with him mentally thenm I am sorry for his family and this girl. If she told the truth.
It's odd they had one hung jury, then a quick guilty verdict.

there are no winners and losers here. RIP my friend, the Pete I knew!

Dec. 9, 2011 What a shock. I was thinking about Pete recently and googled his name to only find this article. I met Pete over 20 years ago and was able to introduce him to my family when we attended a conference in Jackson Hole, WY. Pete was a true professional and his message was always riveting. I am saddened to see his life end way too soon. RIP Pete.

Sounds like Pet the petter needed to keep his petter in his pants. You people put this child molester on a pedestal.????

So to all the posters here would you be putting this Pedo on a pedestal if it had been one of your kids?

Pet needs to be taken out and have his dick cut off just before they pop a cap in his ass. Sick Mother#ucker!

I am so sick of everyone say what a wonderful man pete was. Would an wonerful man go around touching little girls? If it was YOUR child would you still think pete was wonderful? It is easy to say how wonderful he was because it was not your child. Remeber there is a CHILD VICTIM!! Or does that matter because pete was so wonderful!! pete was a very sick man and a coward!!!!

I was lucky enough to meet him in 1996 with my grandfather. He said "i want you to come meet my good friend, his name is Officer Collins. Theres no better man than this man"... I watched an hour and a half long video of one of his speeches earlier and i was so captivated and held by his stories. I had nothing but respect for him. A truely amazing man. And the girl that said her groped her, alls i have to say is, its a sin to lie... when i heard of his passing, i almost started to tear up.. ill see him some day and when i do, ill shake his hand like the day i first met him and thank him.

I never met the guy but ONLY God and those children knows if he did what he was accused of doing. Unless you were with this guy 24/7 you cannot say, as an outsider, that he did or did not do it. I feel sorry for all victims of crime especially innocent children

I remember thinking that the world must surely be coming to an end when I heard the the Captain had been accused of such a thing - his demise left alot of unanswered questions but I will always hold him in high regard for the good he did far outweighed the one seemingly bad decision he made....
Makes me wonder what came of his accuser and if the whole story ever did, or ever will, be told.

Yes, Mr. Collins was well-liked and did a lot of good in his life. That is evident by the majority of comments here.
But there were 12 people who heard ALL the facts and decided that, beyond all reasonable doubt, he committed the crime.
Many people have been convicted of a crime that they did not commit by a juror of their peers.

I met Pete when he came to town back in the early 90s to speak to our local high school and drove him to the airport. In our conversations it was obvious that he was a Christian and we prayed together for his career and the kids he spoke to before he got on his plane to go back to Mississippi.

All that being said, having read all I can after learning about this yesterday, it is truly tragic, not only for him, but for his victims. It is possible for true Christians to have some sin that they cannot master, and this particular one reeks of a sickness that very few could begin to understand.

I believe he's with the Lord now, and this goes to show that there are sins so grievous that He will allow a believer's life to be wrecked and ruined, or in this case, ended. The Lord will forgive every sin one of His own commits. But he hates sin and does not stop us from wrecking and ruining our lives if we choose to go against His teachings.

It seems quite obvious that many who knew Pete are in denial but the evidence seems overwhelming. The right thing to do is learn from his mistakes, try to do right as we walk through this life in this very corrupted world, pray for his family and even more for his victims (yes, there appear to be more than one), and pray that we will never be caught up in some devastating sin that causes us to disgrace our own name and reputation.

The best news is that God will somehow bring good from seemingly hopelessly tragic situations like this one, and one day will wipe away every tear and right every wrong. There are many alive today who would be six feet underground were it not for Trooper Collins' speeches and career.
