Climate change and groupthink, a sociological study: Guest opinion
Is climate change real? My family argues both sides; I've searched for common ground so we can celebrate Thanksgiving amicably.

The answer is, "Yes".
Your family may argue both sides, but the situation is likely one of these:
1) Both sides are argued very poorly; you haven't accessed the science; therefore, it's a "he said/she said" problem for you.
2) The pro-science contingent presents significantly better arguments; you lack the background and/or critical thinking skills to recognize that fact; you haven't accessed the science; therefore, it's a "he said/she said" problem for you.
If the situation is #1, access the science, look at the nonscientific nature of the denier arguments, draw the logical conclusion.
If the situation is #2, you need to do the same, but you need to study science and logic to develop your critical thinking skills first.
As for finding common ground? I suggest looking outside the subject of climate science; there is essentially no common ground between the two sides.
One side knows of the evidence, is swayed by evidence, has the evidence on their side, rejects fallacious arguments, rejects dogmatic belief, and is intellectual honest.
The denier side is none of the above. I suggest discussing football.
Or better yet, get educated and then stand up for rationality and the future of our children.

Well LESS-ON commander of prevarication do show your science peer reviewed published work. To date all you have is cut and paste scientific science fiction. Yo engineer kyle you never answered the question. Why did you engineer the Auto Ind. into bankruptcy?

'fetid feces face flip flopper fiend' can't ask a proper scientific question because it never had science, chemistry, astronomy, physics, algebra or pre-calc in its poorly earned hi skule DEE-plooomaa. Of course,'fetid feces face flip flopper fiend' never had any other science or mathematics training.
At least,'brian_g stumble butt dumpster diver' tried math calculations, tho only a few attempts ended in errors of 1 million TIMES, 1000 TIMES, 3000 TIMES & 73 million TIMES.'fetid feces face flip flopper fiend' has never attempted math calculations, which prove that its proficiency in math is worse than that of 'brian_g stumble butt dumpster diver'.
