The truth will set you free, just like in this case. Facts were heard from both sides, and now he's a free man. But let's not forget, Bettis is a free man also from this cruel world. If I were in this situation, I can't say that I would not protect myself. And just like CPR, once you start, you should not stop until proper authorities arrive. As in proper authorities with a gun, you should not stop until the clip is empty. You never know if or when the other guy might get a gun. I'm not saying he had a gun but his hands were his weapon, along with his guard dog who also stumped Beal in his face while he was down and was never arrest for his participation in the death of his best friend. I alway believed that if you start a fight with your friend and someone dies, the people who started the altercation are at fought. But instead, this young man had to go to jail and spend lots of money to prove his innocence. Two people jumped that man. One died and the other ran. What happens to him. In all honesty, the friend should had been charged with the death of Bettis. Not the innocent Beal, who didn't have a clue why he was under attack. Where is justice for Beal. The dead man can not go to jail but what about his sidekick whose walking the streets of mt. Vernon a free man. Man didn't get him but God will! Everyone has a right to defend themselves.
