Easter is the spring festival that celebrates the central event of the Christian faith: The resurrection of Christ three days following his crucifixion.

An interesting article complete with 2 recipes:
Easter Bread and Leg of Lamb.

The celebration of Easter has nothing to do with Jesus Christ or his resurrection.

The bunnies and chicks, the colored eggs and the baskets filled with candy and treats are to represent the fertility of the Spring season. Easter was celebrated long before Jesus was born.

The celebrataion of Easter was adopted by the Catholic religion to make another holy day of obligation to increase the collections.

So what. Every modern spiritual person I know, who celebrates Christmas and Easter with eggs and trees, do so in either Christ's name or God Himself. What's the problem?

Someone states the origin of Easter. It differs from your belief. Looks like you have the problem, with people stating FACTS.

The Easter holiday, including Easter eggs, is about Christ and God. It's a fact!
No conclusive evidence that proves Easter traditions did not evolve on their own without any influence from, say, Pagans. In the end, what matters above all is not whether Christians and Pagans decorate eggs (or a tree), but what differentiates one sect from the other.
Christ's crucifixion exists only in the Christian celebration of Easter. It's a fact. Embrace it. If you are Christian, celebrate with the rest of us in PEACE! If not, respect us by keeping this thread free of hate.

The only way I'm celebrating is if YOU are nailed to a cross!
