It only takes one nail to hang up the picture.
One is 2 dimensional
One is interdimensional

You are a flippin' goofball. I'm so very sorry about your childhood. Mom must have been awfully tough on you.

Tell you what. Go but a copy of John Lennon's single, "Imagine" and continue to play it until you achieve that peace that passeths all understanding.

Wow, at last a Christian who understands the need to recognize G-d's festivals and not the pagan ones.

Because the Christians need to become aware that there are 3 sets of holidays:

1. There are secular holidays that remember events important to our national history. Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.;

2. There are the holidays that G-d commanded us to keep. The High Holidays are 2 of those. Rosh Hashana, G-d's New Year, is important to Christians because it is the Festival of Trumpets written about in Revelation and the time that your second coming is tied to it. But for the Jews continuing to sound the trumpets at this time of the year, there could be no second coming because the Christians are not keeping the festival.

3. There are the pagan holidays that the Christians have adopted and molded to their needs. New Year in January; Easter in the Spring; Halloween in October; Christmas at the winter solstice.

It would be nice, however, if you could use a consistent screen name on the same thread.

Gee Dave...
I wonder why it is that so many people keep making the same observation (what YOU call a "mistake") that you hide behind dozens of different screen names a day during your 18 hour shift here on the T-S Topix forum...?
Now WHY would so many people be pointing this out...?
Oh... I know...!!!
It is because you DO in fact use dozens of different screen names and LIE ABOUT IT...!!!
So come on Dave... you claim to be a "Published Scientist"...
Explain how so many people keep making this "mistake"...
Hmmmmmmmm..........
And, why are you stalking him?

And why does his opinion on our holidays concern you?

Why does his input here have any impact on you?

Better watch out "Eric"...
Or Sun-K might get jealous...
Now you two "boys" be sure to share...
Ha ha ha ha ha ha..........
And your lack of a response indicates that you are the problem and not he.

Everyone starts at scratch as far as I'm concerned until they prove otherwise. You have proven otherwise.

That means that you both came on equal footing. You both came into a discussion on the holiest of the days of our year. I had no reason not to believe that as you entered, neither of you would do anything other than discuss the High Holy Days. Mr. Short did begin a discussion on that subject, although not in the most positive of fashion. Once I replied to his post, he responded in a manner that was respectful to our beliefs. I think that Mr. Short has a method to let him know when his name is mentioned on the internet. When he saw his name mentioned in this thread, he added his comment. But it was on point.

You, on the other hand, came to a discussion on the holiest of our days in a manner that was just the opposite of the message that we believe G-d directs us to consider on these days. You had nothing positive to say about Mr. Short. When I responded, you had nothing positive to say about me. Therefore, you lost any right to any positive consideration as far as I was concerned. You disrespected us not because of your opinion of us or our holidays. You disrespected us by coming into a discussion of our holidays and turning it into an attack on another person.

On Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, we ask those whom we have wronged to forgive us while at the same time forgiving those who have wronged us. You came with just the opposite message.

"Give us this day our daily bread"
"and forgive us our trespasses"
"as we forgive those who trespass against us"

Just curious if that's part of your prayer for your High Holy days? It sounds Christian and Muslim as well. It's also got aspects of the Local native American worship. Forgiveness and brotherhood at the dances.

The 10 commandments are part of the Old Testament. I'm betting that the Talmud (*Or Torah) the Quran have the same commandments possibly with slightly different wording. Am I right on this?

I'm still trying to figure out where the conflict is here religiously. Is it political and not really religious? It's my understanding that the Jews in Palestine and the Muslims got along quite well until Israel's politics became exclusive . I understand that Palestinians used to pray at the Wailing wall beside Talmudic Jews. That's right isn't it?

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all agree on some neutral days of forgiveness and atonement to each other across religious and geographical boundaries? Any old day would be OK with me.

peace
