September 11th was done against my America, but Pearl Harbor was done against the America of Archie Bunker and the KKK. During that same generation 4700 black men were lynched. Native American kids were kidnapped from their parents and forced into residential schools to destroy their culture. Some were sexually abused there. Blacks were injected with syphillis in the Tuskegee Project, similar to medical experiments Nazi doctors did on Jewish prisoners in the death camps.
Asking American minorities to care about Japan's atrocities toward that generation of white people is like asking the Jewish community of today's Germany to weep for the Germany of Hitler. Just as many openly say they are sick and tired of hearing blacks or Jews complain about slavery or the Holocaust, so to hell with Pearl Harbor. I care about September 11, about an America in which I was included and justly treated.
