MLK did nothing for Black America, are you serious? Please find a book, encyclopedia or something, that is one of the most ridiculous comments I have heard. But in regards to your last part of your comment you are correct. Anyone who chooses to be uneducated and/or unemployed by their choice is useless, but that does not just stand for Black America, thats America as a whole. When are we going to stop saying one race does this, another race does that? I mean come on, just as there is "black unemployment" there is "white unemployment." There are educated black people and educated white people, education and employment does not exist in color but in people.

Here is a nasty truth, with out the evil white man, MLKs legacy would be Nada, he needed proactive politically connected whites to make his movement happen, blacks forget about that. Now blacks champion Obama being a black man and maybe our President..but he comes from a white woman, so don’t start planning an Obama holiday being the first black President yet my friends.. Also, since when is it racist to question something? Sorry, but like some of the posts in this area have stated..while MLK was important to a small part of America, he by no means is deserving of the WEEKS of education our children must endure (to appease political agendas) yet not talk about some of those who are more important to our history and get NO Mention. Guess what? Andrew Carnegie did far more for blacks than MLK ever did. Wanna hear a real kicker? George Bush has helped fight AIDS in Africa and has saved more lives there in his pro-active treatment focuses than any Al Sharpton are Jessie Jackson effort… Funny how reality works with what is created.
MLK day will never be celebrated in my house, there is no reason to...MLK did great things sure, he helped America mature, but that’s it. He also had A LOT of help. So what do you all want? We have; MLK day, we have Kwanzaa now,(a FAKE racist holiday we must now all put up with), there’s February which is Black History month, there is Juneteeth, there’s all kinda black centric festivals that whites must pay for via taxes in some fashion or another.. when will this pandering stop?? We need to bring back a holiday for Washington, a man that is the father of this nation, and did a lot with a little.
you do not have to put up with anything. don't read it, don't worry about it. it isn't for you to like or dislike. who give a rats A-- about what you think or you type worry about ST. PATRICK's DAY who ST. WHAT oh those little GREEN things "peoples.

I am appalled with YDR for even posting this NON-newsworthy story. The man simply stated his opinion about MLK Day. He didn't sound racist or insensitive for that matter. He was simply making an observation.

However, YDR does know that a simple story like this will insite public commentary and racial intolerance. So 71 comments later, the melee continues..........NEXT!

I do understand your frustration, and everything that you are saying is really not that serious. After all we as parents teach our children what we want them to learn and know. So all this bull about Santago honoring this or that day what does it matter, after all they are all DEAD!! We waste more time making "mountains" out of "molehills" and calling the race card. What we all should be worrying about is if you would die today or tomorrow who will you be standing before?? It sure won't be Dr. King or any of the DEAD PRESIDENTS!! Besides if you want your child to know about history who is the best person to teach them but you yourself!! No hard feelings just keeping it REAL!! Peace. <quoted text>
I agree with you 100%. When its all said and done this will be so trival. Well said Apple.
