Please tell me why this article does not say that "Chicagoans give thanks for MLK, Obama"? Does melanin mean that much to this writer and to this newspaper? Are you suggesting that either it takes a degree of melanin to give thanks, or that for some reason the writer has the definitive answer to degrees of melanin and thankfulness for people who contribute the positive and constructive progress of America? Let's focus on that which is positive for America and leave the melanin to the biologists.

Can whites celebrate the white half of Obama, or is this racist?

No, I think it would be innapropriate for you guys to start claiming the half breeds. You guys have historically labeled people with a drop of black blood as being black. No offense, but lets not change the rules in the middle of the game because this guy managed to become president. Please let us have one president, pretty please. Lets be honest, had he been 100% black maybe he doesn't win.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Obama sure as hell wasn't judged by his character (or lack thereof), but rode in on white guilt and the concept of positive discrimination.

The dream is dead. Martin Luther King's ideals have been discarded for the cult of victimhood and entitlement.

MLK was a repuplican! I'm pretty sure he's rolling over in his grave right now.
