Only 30 Big Willie haters so far...You guys crack me up...You need to face the fact that the man has been sucessful at everything he's wanted to do, and he's not finished..Gone King Willie, let's get you to D.C. and maybe all these hatters will have a heart attack and die...We don't need them or their votes anyway.
"You need to face the fact that the man has been sucessful at everything he's wanted to do, and he's not finished.."

What accomplishments has Herenton achieved that were a benefit to the city of Memphis? Herenton looked out for himself, period!

If you truly believe that he was successful in everything he did, how do you explain the pathetic condition the city was in during his terms in office?

As I've said before...his entire career as mayor was mired down in scandal and corruption. He fathered a child out of wedlock and according to the "baby's momma" he's had little to do with him. That speaks volumes about his character.

Herenton has absolutely NO business in congress. He's made the city of Memphis a national laughing stock. Herenton needs to take money from some of his many shady business deals, move to Atlanta and be a father to his "love child."

And that's fine bc willie sucks, but that other dude was making it seem like he wanted to throw a "blame the blacks party" or something and I don't think that is right.
I agree.

Herenton is totally and completely responsibile for the condition the city. Since he began his career the city has consistently gone down hill. Herenton was too concerned about himself to be concerned about the city or it's citizens. It's really ashamed that there are some people who are content to vote for someone based on their race whether or not they're qualified. That's my biggest gripe.

I am a black man and to me it matters not the color of skin as long as the job gets done for the whole of Memphis. For Herenton to be as brash to say the best of the city's days are over when he has done quite a bit of dividing on his own really makes me sad to hear him say this

Memphis will elect this arrogant a s s hole again because he is black. The % of black to white guarantees it and he knows it. He feeds off of the stupidity of others. He is not in this election to help the citizens, he is in it to help himself. Too bad the people who will vote him back into office don't realize this....and so the story goes...

Herenton is just a jerk. I hope the people of Memphis aren't stupid enough to send him to congress. He is a blemish on the City of Memphis, the State of Tennessee, the entire South and don't forget the Whole USA!!! I could go on, but I think ya'll get the idea. What a pompous, arrogant, etc. jerk!!!

I have faith in Mr. Wharton until he proves otherwise. T0 say anything good about the previous mayor would be false. Yes Herenton has used race as an issue to benifit his career. There is no place for this. Hopefully he will lose and then there won't be any thing for him to do except have a business and he will be caught doing illegal things. I give my support to Wharton as he seems intelligent and sincere. This is the last gasp for that stupid moron herenton

"I'd be lying if I said I missed you; you missed me, I didn't miss you." He must be living in a lie if he thinks we missed him. The arrogance just reaks out of you W. W., and quite frankly, You would be toxic to Congress and to America, because you were poison to Memphis and we finally have some hope with A. C. Maybe if you want to represent "mainstream" America, you should start acting a little more humble and PAY YOUR TAXES like the rest of us!

Well, CHILD, crime is, of course, multiracial, but drug crimes are
criminals dealing with criminals. If they want to drug themselves
it is bad, but it is among lowlifes, black AND white.
Are you saying that it is mostly whites involved in drugs?
I do not think so.
Oh, How many whites blew out someones brains with a gun last year?
Now, babydoll, I think it is your bedtime there.. Sweet dreams.
You have officially given yourself up. I think you are a a young white racist trolling as an old grandpa. I can read through the lines. Either that, or you are some old guy trying to use hip words like "sweet" so you sound cool on the internet. Anyway,The meth lab problem has been caused by whites. That is not a popular drug in the black community. Whenever I see drug busts, they are white people dealing meth. It is the new "thing" here in Memphis...and it's a big deal. And as far as whites killing people...it happens too. It especially happens when white men get angry and kill their girlfriends/spouses. We have seen an increase in this not only locally, but NATIONWIDE. Of course there are other white murders as well. And I wouldn't brag about being in the Philippines...lol.

Oh yeah...American success story. Every child wants to grow up and be investigated for corruption.Every child wants to have a baby out of wedlock with a person half their age. Every child wants to spew racist propaganda. I know those were my dreams when I was a youngster.

Watchdog, surely there is something more substantive for you to report on than this attention-seeking buffoon. Do us all a favor and practice what they tell you at the zoo; PLEASE DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS. Wise up, it's clear he's only using you and WREG to spew his garbage in hopes of making it to D.C.

He was mayor of the city, head person in charge. Where else should the blame lie?

Herenton declared himself, "King Willie." The last time I checked king's are responsible for their kingdom.

Idiots will be the people who support his bid for a congressional seat.
