most off the officers in this shithole town i live in are great, including kufner!! morell is the only jerkoff cop here. he has nothing better to do than drive around and give people a hard time. he is the only one that busts peoples balls. he doesnt mean shit to this community. the big reason the kids act out is because of him. the other officers interact with the kids and talk to them like theyre not all complete criminals. not all the kids here are bad kids, only some. i had to deal with officer morell coming to my house for walking home from a friends house 2 minutes after curfew, any other cop says just to go straight home, but not good ol morell. he gets off by doing this crap. i bet if they got more cops like kufner and brown and ones like the old officers suchi and hulsinger, the kids wouldnt be so "bad"! they just dont like morell. kids could be at home sleeping and he would still try and say they did something wrong. hes more of a problem than the kids are, in fact he is the problem. nobody can say they didnt do stupid "teenager" things here so quit the shit. all you lp cops keep doin good, and keepdoing your job. im not defending these kids completely, but morell takes his job a little too far. i cant say lp doesnt have problems cuz itdoes, but find the real problems, not kids walking around at 1230. find the crackheads and guys beatingtheir wife and kids. to make my point clear, morell just doesnt deserve this position, give it to someone who wontmake more trouble orthat wont make the kids rebellious!!

You are a moron!!! To even say that they need a cop "who wont make trouble" is retarded. You obviously have dealt with LPPD alot to develope this kind of attitude towards Cheif Morell. There is a curfew for a reason, and the brats need to be off the street by the time curfew starts, not a few minutes or 30 minutes later. It is in place not to control the little bastards, but also to protect them.

Think before you comment next time pinhead!!!!!

It amazes me that someone can come into your house, steal property from you, give it to someone else, admit to the police they have it and refuse to return it and the LP police say there is nothing they can do about it. This is exactly what happened to me on September 18th. Since I have been in Lawrence Park, I have had the same person come into my residence and steal property from me twice, had my mailbox lock pried open, and my mail stolen (this is still going on)- but the Lawrence Park police department claim there is nothing they can do about it, even though I have plenty of physical evidence (and the police even have one admission...). I have to agree with whoever said the LP police dept. was nothing but "traffic cops". They do nothing to uphold the law when it truly counts- someone can steal your property with no consequences, but you better make sure you don't make a right hand turn on red at Water and East Lake Rd......I am counting down the days until I can get out of this miserable little town and away from the white trash that seems to inhabit it. I was also shocked to find out that the head of the PTA was or may still be a stripper at Partners, not to mention there is another PTA member that is under investigation by the DA's Office for receiving stolen property, the Erie Humane Society for animal abuse allegations, as well as OCY for being a nasty, dirty cat hoarder whose house smells like a giant litter box due to the 20+ cats they have running in and out of their house ( the LP police claim they can't do anything about this, either- I feel sorry for their neighbors), not to mention the house is a dump. Nice to know these people are associated with the children that go to this school district. If you are missing a pet, check at 1081 Newton Ave- you'll probably find it there, but don't expect any help from the LP police to get it back.....

Well if you are unhappy with the LPPD, then waddle up to Judge Krahe's office, state your case and file a private criminal complaint. The judge sends it to the D/A who will decide if there is enough to prosecute.

Oh yeah, stop letting the thief into your house, and then you will not need the assistance of the police.

Or try PSP

The postal inspector will not proceed without a report from the local PD- I have already tried that route. I fully intend on filing with Krahe's office, but it shouldn't have to come to that- the LPPD should be able to handle that one themselves. The PSP has no jurisdiction here. Believe me, I am not letting this thief into my house- she is being brought here by my niece (hence the problem)who is supposed to be with her father on the weekends, and instead of watching her he shoves her off to this friend's house because his girlfriend doesn't want her there. I guess it makes no difference because this girl's parents don't watch their kids either, which seems to be the norm in good 'ol LP

Good luck with Krahe. Guess what his occupation was before he was elected DJ? Needless to say your complaint won't get off the ground. I agree, LP and Weselyville is slowly but surely becoming trashy. Their housing is cheap which opens the doors to the cockroaches from the west side of Franklin Ave. The "police" are a joke too. Glad I don't live there. I pass thru and that is just dandy with me. Watch out for the "speed trap" on East Lake Road. They just re-painted the lines so they will be sitting there with their hard-ons and stop watches!!!

Wow, somebody has got their facts screwed up! Stopped you for curfew? Really because he has been on day shift for about five years now. I think you are making things up now! I think you have a mancrush!

mancrush?? are you retarded?! the thing is, this happened about like 7 years ago in like 2003. so why dont you get your facts straight first before you comment. and yeah i may have gotten a little carried away when commenting the first time. i was just really surprised that out of all the officers, he became chief. what does the process of becoming chief even consist of, like why not somebody else, was it voted or something?? im not sure. i didnt come on here to start trouble or cause problems so let me try to make my point a little better and more adult like. i have nothing against the police and i know they have a tough job but i just think he could not take his job so serious like hes in a gang ridden town. this is lawrence park, not north philly. all the other officers interact with the kids in the community. if they see you at the store theyll say hi, ask how youre doing and what not, but officer morell, to me and many others, seems to not have respect for others and thats exactly why they dont have respect for him. nobody is complaining about any other officers but him. he just seems to think hes above everyone, but thats just my personal opinion. i honestly just think that if he didnt act like such a hard ass super cop, the "juvenile delinquents" in lawrence park would show him more respect like they do for the other officers. im not trying to make him seem like some horrible person, but just trying to let people know what its really like and what the younger generation thinks. ill be the first to say i deserved to get in trouble when i did something illegal, but even when i cleaned up my act and stopped doing the things i used to do, i would still get stopped by him in the street and he would interrogate me. he just needs to know that lawrence park isnt the damn ghetto. you have these same problems anywhere you go, its just more concentrated in lawrence park because its so small in area. im just trying to figure out why he is the chief. like i said in my first comment, the kids will and are going to get rebellious. i dont care what anyone says, i know what im talking about, i was recently one of them. this town takes away all the things the kids can do to keep them from causing real trouble. not being able to swim at 4 mile creek, playing basketball down at the park too late, and even just walking with a group of friends. you cant do any of these things anymore without anone giving you hard time and calling you a hoodlum. im not trying to offend anyone here, but just make a point to people to know what its really like to be a teenager in lawrence park these days. just because a few kids are screwups doesnt mean they all are. and by the way, are people scared to put their real names on here. if officer morell read this he would probably know exactly who i am and im still putting my name on here.

dave, the law is there and has to be enforced, Just because you were a delinquint and were busted by the cops does not mean Chief Morell is a bad cop. You were a bad kid. We do not care what the younger generation thinks. The curfew is there for a reason, not to break your stones for being out late, but to protect the younger kids, protect the residents and their property from you delinquints.
Big deal if you believe it is only little old Lawrence Park, and that the cops should not take their jobs seriously. A cop can be hurt or killed in Lawrence Park as easily as a cop in New York can. So no matter where a cop is, he has to take his job and his life seriously. So that he can go home to his family at the end of the shift, and also for the residents that he is sworn to protect.

Get a life!!!

what do you mean get a life?? youve left more comments on here than anybody, and youre just about the only one protecting and defending officer morell. im just trying to state my personal opinion here and you get so defensive. and the last thing i said had nothing to do with the curfew thing so that had no relevance to anything i said. i i never said he was a bad cop, i just said that he acts like the things kids do are serious felonies and they deserve jail time. i dont ever remember there being a killing, shooting, or stabbing. nothing worse than probably underage drinking or something. i know the law is the law and nowadays i abide by that law and i support the police, but he just seems to think these crimes in LP are really serious. i agree that kids need to be punished, because it taught me alot. i know he doesnt need to respect people because i know he doesnt care about that, but my main point is that he is not very respectful because he doesnt have to be. maybe the people commenting on here would be more respectful towards him if he would have shown them some. im not trying to get anyone all upset because i know the law IS there for a good reason. the kids, and adults for that matter, need to be punished, but he doesnt need to make it seem like theyre killers of felons unless it really is a big deal. please dont come back with a defensive comment about "oh the law is there for a reason" because i aready know that. im just trying to leave my personal opinion here. once again, i didnt say officer morell was a bad cop, or that he needs to just lay down and not enforce the law but just saying that i think he treats simple things like murder. handle the incidents how they deserve to handled. if the people were treated well, theyll treat you well, thats it!!

I completely agree with Dave. I think that former dispatcher may have a mancrush. He waits for Officer Morell to come over so they can talk dirty to each other. Dave put everything exactly how I would have put it. Good work and keep up the great job! All of you Lawrence Park residents need to stop defending Officer Morell. He tried to kiss me on Friday, October 1. That is why former dispatcher likes him so much.

First, John Morell is an outstanding police officer who has and will continue to serve our community well. LPPD has served with diligence and professionalism in protecting the citizens. I will disregard the "dark" comment as classless and low, even beneath you. So I will allow you to recant.
I have lived in Lawrence Park my entire life, and my family has given more than any other.
The Lawrence Park Fire Department operates at the highest effiecieny of any volunteer fire department. I challenge you to find one in Erie County, just one department that has not dropped a response in the past two years. You simply cannot find one, other than LP. We are there for our residents, all hours of the day and night. We'll start there as the benchmark for FD standards, as that is the purpose for our existance.
You see, regardless of political ploy and selective reporting, the members of LPFD show up and do work when the tones go off, which is more than most can say.

How about we stop hiding behind anonymity? I have a feeling I know who this is because of the grammer mistakes, but how about you give your name?

LPFD does not recieve a cent of your tax money. Check your facts. But, maybe that's why you're no longer with us.

Lots of internet tough guys I see, but you wouldn't say boo to anyone's face if given the chance.

Lp has turned in to a s*it hole houses falling apart and should be condemned and a whole lot of section 8 trash. I can't wait to get out of here before it turns into the terrace. The township needs to be taken back. Why are there so many section 8 rentals if you have to apply with the township for a rental permit. Denie that shit.
