Anyone living in Ohio knows that winter doesn't end for another 12 weeks or the end of April.

think you need to recheck the "legend". then again, maybe there's an ohellho version.
it's a no win situation whether the critter sees his shadow or not. spring doesn't arrive until around the 20th of march under either prediction.
otherwise though, gives 'em something to do on a slow news and/or weather day.
just my opinion

These two rodents can't agree on something so important? Sounds like the Ohio Legislature to me.

I say we use the dead critters along the highway to forecast the arrival of Spring. After all, they are hot off the grill (of a car).

I know state and city employees like sleeping in and getting some much-needed shut eye on the job, but cant we just find one guy to keep his eye on the weather radar at 6 a.m.???? That big blue blob heading for the northern half of the greater metro area was in fact SNOW!!!! From the looks of it this morning, we couldn't find anyone to get out of bed before rush hour to watch for that blue mass heading toward Central Ohio. Here's the deal. I pay my taxes and you guys keep things safe. It's that simple. When "big blue blob" brings "snow" it means that ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE around here. To prevent another morning mayhem, just beat the rush hour drivers out of bed and throw down a little salt. Start with 270 to keep it from turning into another skating rink. Is that too much to ask? Where is the Dispatch online editor on this little weather story today? Too busy SHILLING for Coleman and Strickland. You sure can tell when those Dems are in office. The auto body shops and tire repair guys are back logged for weeks and months.

If the casino was open this would make a great bet which one was going to be roadkill first.

I watched the 'live' T-V broadcast from PA. this morning.'Phil' was displayed at approx. 7:18 A.M. and the forecast made. Now if sunrise wasn't until 7:39 A.M., how could the animal see or not see its shadow without the required sun being up? I would think that out of ALL those people envolved, at least some would say, "Hey, wouldn't it be wise of us not go on air until at least 8:00 A.M., when the sun would be above the horizon"?

Buckeye Chuck is a poseur. The real forecast comes from Punxsutawney Phil, who's being doing it for a century. It silly to copy everthing.

Groundhog day is dumb. Get rid of it, seriously.
If you believe in a critter to forecast your weather, I got some ocean front property in Columbus I want to sell you!

So PA gets more winter but Ohio gets early Spring? Sounds like a good deal to me!

Wait a minute, you think they named Buckeye Chuck actually Chuck coming from the name groundhog? ground chuck? lol hmmmmm. Well that's one groundhog that won't live 100 years 8D
