Groundhog day is apparently what a lot of people look forward to. But what seemingly few realize is that the groundhog is only seldom correct in predicting an early spring or 6 more weeks of winter. In fact, I am sure there were many incidents in the past where the groundhog predicted an early spring (did not see it's shadow), but not only were there 6+ more weeks of winter that year, but that year's summer was short and chilly. Chilly even to the point of people wearing long sleeve shirts and long pants in July, hoodies, sweats, and sometimes even light jackets in June and August, and I mean, literally, summers in which there are highs in the low 60s (sometimes even upper 50s) Fahrenheit when and where it should be in the 80s and 90s Fahrenheit.
