This article has one thing wrong: Candlemas is derived from a Pagan holiday known as Imbolc ( http://www.ucc.ie/fecc/imbolc.html ). Beyond that, I don't believe in the superstitions of whether or not an animal sees it's shadow. I'll wait to see what nature has store.

Do you believe in a guy who was born of immaculate conception to later be resurrected into a non-brain eating zombie? Majority of the Christian holidays are derived from Pagan Holidays.....oh wait they were stolen LOL. do the research and you'll find that old pagan beliefs still linger on strongly.

My, aren't we full of p**s and vinegar on this brisk winter's day. Wake up on the wrong side of the stable today?

I sure hope that Punxsutawney Phil is right, but with looking out the window at the bad weather we have experienced in the last couple of days I have my doubts about his accuracy.

If you told them to worship the radiator cap on their car they would. I think the ground hog thing is funny but i think this is the winter from hell no matter what anyone says including rodent behavior....yea go Steelers #1

Y0u people dont know how inportant this is. this way of reporting a early spring has been used for 100 years or more, it is 100% accurate, they just dont let you know this, they just have these secrets for security reasons,I have worked for these people and have retired, they had me go all over the world for these type of things. Dont let them fool you!!!!!!

Okay, now I'm confused. The quotation is always "he didn't see his shadow".. Does that mean he didn't turn to look or there was no shadow for him to see?
