oh no! we're only 1/2 way until spring??? i always thought of groundhog day as the BEGINNING of spring--shadow or no shadow. guess that's a bit overly optimistic.

pip, you're in Texas. You have nothing to complain about! Re: the groundhog celebration: it may be the weirdest American ritual. Any other thoughts?

Like the stud Jim Cantore on the Weather Channel, groundhogs are cute. So I'll take their meteorological musings into account.

Bill, I loved you in Ground Hog Day and What about Bob.

But on a serious note, do people actually believe a ground hog can predict how long our winter will be. Isnt' that what the farmer's almanac is for.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Pisces

This is another good day to be tactful, and if anything you'll be even more successful than you were yesterday. This is not to be sneezed at, so seize the opportunity to talk to people who can sometimes be very touchy or who need to be handled with kid gloves. If you meet someone who's older or more influential than you, you'll be a big hit with them.
