Why the heck are they calling it a Springfest? In that case, kids need to bring their Springfest baskets so they can see the Springfest Bunny.......

People wake up, its an EasterFest. Let's all Celebrate Christ's Resurrection. Thank You God.

i don't think any identification has ever protected anyone in the history of history.

I'm sure some super ghetto family will ruin it for everyone with drive by shootings.

It's called Springfest because it's the day before Easter and it's about more than an egg hunt, but after all, so is Easter! Right? So everyone can celebrate Easter on Sunday the way they please...We'll celebrate the season in all its glory and yes, the Easter Bunny will be there!

As for digital IDs - they're FREE so it's not a waste of money... Tyler, it's important for parents to do everything they can, using the newest technology available, to keep their kids safe. We know it's not possible to protect from everything, all the time; but every little bit helps. It's just one activity at Springfest. Hope you make it down from Albuquerque to say hello! Just no wtf's, ok?

I have to say in this case I agree with CK: I am waiting for the year when someone busts a cap in this place and takes down the enjoyment that goes along with it. This park borders two questionable neighborhoods, and there are always at least one group of people at this park that are up to no good.

I'm guessing you folks talking about someone 'bustin' a cap' at the park, I'm guessing you've never attended. I'd check it out if I were you before you start making assumptions about the neighborhood and those who go to Young Park. It's been a fun event for many years and thousands of folks have enjoyed it.

Most of the ghetto trash has ruined the fun for families to go to the Whole Enchilada fiesta and the fair. Having it at Young Park is just asking for trouble. Its right by the wonderful School where in the last week a student/person was seen with a gun.

It will happen one day. I am afraid that it is going to happen also at the Fair one day.

I object to the use of easter with the term bunny. Easter is a specific religous holiday celebrated by Christians in love and honor of their Saviour Jesus Christ. To use a religous term in the wrong context is as objectionable as using a religous temr in the right context.
Please fix this issue in one of the following ways.
1) Keep the name easter bunny but allow the true story of Easter brought into the fest.
2) Change it all to Easter Fest.
3) Drop easter from the bunny name and call him fred or alex or even springfest bunny.

Why must everyone be so negative? Even if you feel that the event is not being held in the best part of town there is no need to down the whole event. There have been many events held in that park such as Ciclovia and there are always many families that go out and enjoy it. Events like SpringFest go on to create events for families, promote family unity and togetherness. Not everything planned ever goes as planned; if something goes wrong at SpringFest it should not necessarily reflect on the people who attend the event, volunteer at the event or the people who live in the area. Horrible people and circumstance happen everywhere; don't place judgement and stereotypes, it makes you look stupid.
