I keep my thermostat on 68 degrees throughout Winter. I don't believe turning it down when I'm at work is a good idea because it takes more energy to warm-up the house when I get home! I have been able to keep my bills at much more reasonable levels using this method.

I keep my furnace on 55 degrees & never touch it but wonder if it really saves anything. Seems like it would have to run just as often to maintain 55 as it would 75. You would have to of course warm up to 75...but after that initial warm up, wouldn't the number of times a furnace runs to maintain a temp be the same?
