Lawsuits Mount Over May Day Police Action In MacArthur Park

Another federal lawsuit was filed Wednesday over the May 1 police sweep of a pro-immigration rally in MacArthur Park, with the plaintiffs including a coalition that organized the rally.

I have many close friends who came from and whose families originated in Mexico.
They are here legally and they have a great respect for the opportunity to live the USA.

They are hard working resectable people.
They too are embarrassed.
They do NOT want the illegals here, because they know how it is in Mexico, and if they are allowed to come it will be the same here, as in Mexico.

How do you say "Disperse " in Spanish?
That was their only problem.
For a people who are used to police abuse in their own countries, why would they claim that police in riot gear meant a 'welcome home'?
When police tell you to move, you move.

That's like letting a dog bite you first, because you say the sidewalk is public. The dog should move.

I want to one day be a police officer and I still think the police were wrong here. They were ill trained in a situation like this and should of had a better way to deal with it.

With your mentality, you will never get into any police department. It takes allot to be a police officer, and sitting behind a computer second guessing officers that have seen and done more things than you will ever experience its not going to help you.

Ive already taken written test for it and passed the exams. Therefore I will make it. There are good cops and bad cops, these cops were just not trained to deal with this situation, so therefore being penalized for it.

Well congratulations and I will see you out there. You will see that the police (Metro) were well trained, thats all they do, its train for crowd control, but when it comes to LAPD, everything you do, even if its how they trained you, will be looked at by many city leaders as wrong.
