As most actual experts in the field have maintained for over two decades, a better term to use and actually comprehend for what is taking place would be global climate change. In that respect not only will the general trend be warming, the climate is going to be much more unpredictable at any given moment. In a similar vein it will show more extreme severe weather phenomena such as drought, hurricane, and so on. No a cool summer in central Ohio doesn't mean much of anything on a global scale, except for those who don't actually think globally.
