Matthew 25:31-46
"When the son of Man comes in his glory, and all angels with him, he will set on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before hime, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepard separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then the King will say ot those on his right,'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you sin the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and your clothes me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer hime, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needed clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?
The King will reply,'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me,'
Then he will say to those on his left,'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. The also will answer, Lord when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison and did not help you?
He will reply 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the lease of these you did not do for me. Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the rightious to eternal life."
The feeding ministry is not going to close down for good. They are doing this to make it ten times better. It is hard to make it better while the ministry is goingo on. It is going to take a break to come back better than it ever was before. There has been a whole lot of misunderstanding here.

How is it that you're the only one who knows this? Do you drink the FRC Kool-Aid too?

Then maybe the FRC leadership needs to come out and speak clearly. They are going to make it ten times better, ok, how? They must have a plan right? let's hear it!

Thanks for clearing that up. Some people don't look at the whole perspective, just the part they can bitch about and point fingers at.
Even if they wanted to reorganize shouldn't you have a plan to feed the people until the reorganization is completed

People have been fed in Hallandale through hurricanes, thorugh remodelings, etc, etc, etc. If there was a "misalignment of the vision" they could have easily realigned the vision. If the homeless were causing too much trouble, they could have set some bounderies and rules, they could have brought in more muscle. Bottom line, "those" people are not wanted at the precious FRC Hallandale campus and I would bet my bottom dollar that the "broader vision" does not include feeding homeless people at the campus. Shame on you, what would Jesus say? He loves "those" people, He died for "those" people.
Well, to begin, the homeless were indeed being quite rowdy on Thursday nights and they did set boundaries to keep in mind the safety of the volunteers. Also, the future vision does include feeding the homeless at the Hallandale Campus. They are trying to reorganize it to make it safer and more effective so that many more can come to eat. Those people are indeed wanted on Flamingo Hallandale Campus but if you are going to take care of them, it is best to do so effectively.

I think they already did come out and say it. The current program operated on 1,000 a week they have 300,000 already marked for the feeding program not to mention that the article stated they renovated and want to feed 1,000's not 100's. Are we reading the same article? May be yours doesn't say that.

Dear Miss Guided FRC Supporter:
Why don't you call the church office and ask the nice young lady who answers the phone why she was told by her "boss" to tell callers that 1. The Kitchen in FRC Hallandale needs renovations 2. There wasn't enough volunteers there to do the job
Which lie is correct? Is this the kind of church Kool-Aid you drink? What happened to good old honesty and serving God first.
Are these the kind of promises that FRC is telling you so that you become a cookie cutter christian?
Please learn the art of discernment.

$1,000 a week for 3 years is $156,000 that's good so far

$300,000 for it plus rennovations is even better

I am already a volunteer. I also do food drives a few times a year at work, not only just holiday time, and donate. I can sleep at night. I do what I can and I wouldn't stop doing it because someone helping didn't work at the same place I did etc. Shame on me for what?

Nice Try! How about the contributions from the Volunteers! How about the financial contributions of the volunteers? What $100,000.00 in rennovations! Please did you pay the bills? And who contributes the money? Flamingo Road Church? No the people who Tithe....that's who really contribute...What are you talking about...where does Flamingo Road get it's money from?
Also, FRC Hallandale Support and Swan's Eye...you both should be ashamed of yourselves. Have either of you gone done to work there? I doubt it..The $300,000.00 is for what?
What do these homeless people do, while all this "cleansing" is going on? They're the real losers in story.
Where is both of your honor at? CYA'ing ?
You two are amazing.

To stop a long running feeding program berfore Thanksgiving and Christmas shows that the new Church leadership has no heart for poor and needy people.

"We want to feed thousands, not hundreds," Palacios said.

If they don't care about hundreds how will they care for thousands?

How do you know? Were you there every Thur. night, did you bring or serve any meals? It's easy to sit on the side lines and cast your point of view, but then again I bet you had dinner tonight didn't you?
I did serve. Tim Sholle, Mike Jerkins and myself used to eat together with a small group of men every Thursday night at various restaurants. We began to notice how much our bills collectively added up to and felt that our money could be better used in feeding others who don't have the luxury of 3 square meals a day. The first night we opened the door at FBH we had 4 men, and one older women. As the weeks went on, good news spread fast and soon we were feeding 30-40 people meals, like chili, meat-loaf and spaghetti. While we knew there were other places offering free meals, the dinner we were providing included one on one conversation. While some were preparing in the kitchen, others would go out and sit at the tables with the guests and chat with them in spite of the sour smell some had from baking out in the sun all day. We shared stories and offered advice and ate together like we were friends. The appeal of FBCH was that when the homeless came to eat they were treated with dignity and never had to experience the judgmental stares that they received everywhere else. The Flamingo machine will never achieve this because if they felt the same way about these people they would have continued to provide food to these people instead of letting them fend for themselves while the Flamingo Rd. Juggernaut re-organizes. The shame lies in the fact that, the Thursday night feeding program began in Hallandale by three men with a heart to offer help and sought the use of a church kitchen that was sitting idle on Thursday nights anyway, who were not "members" of that church, yet rolled up their sleeves and found deep satisfaction in the faces of well fed strangers.

Yeah, right. What could be better than a life size video version of Troy preaching to his congregation in Cooper city while oblivious to life in Hallandale.

As per the article..."Too many of the volunteers serving the food were not members of the Flamingo Road Church of Cooper City, which funds the program."

Funny... I don't remember the pastors from Flamingo Road Church checking the volunteers at the door to make sure that we, the volunteers, were members of Flamingo Road Church before we could come in with the food we lovingly funded, prepared and served... Actually, I don't remember ANY pastors from Flamingo Road Church serving at all.

That being said, it was truly a pleasure and honor to volunteer with a group of people whose hearts were to help, serve, minister, cook, clean, encourage, feed, and do anything they could to help someone in a time of need.

Tomorrow it could be me, you, Raul, or Troy in a time of need. I doubt any of us would be so narrow minded as to think only members of Flamingo Road Church are capable of helping. God's church is much bigger than that!

Daily Horoscope for November 10

Sagittarius

You'll have your nose to the grindstone as the Moon enters Virgo and your tenth house of career and status. The drive to achieve may be especially strong as the Moon is challenged by Pluto. This same energy could create problems among co-workers and other associates, so be aware of the moods of others. Also, watch for a tendency to say the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person.
